Pankaj Tripathi’s Main Atal Hoon on OTT: ‘The Goal was to Truly Become Atal Bihari Vajpayee from Inside’

Pankaj Tripathi starrer Main Atal Hoon finally made its way to the OTT. The film follows the journey of political leader Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee, capturing the poet, gentleman and a statesman in him. In a recent media interaction, Tripathi opened up about the challenges he faced while portraying a real life persona,

“Preparing for a role like this requires a lot of in-depth study and research. The tricky part was to capture the real essence of a person while also bringing in my own perspective, shared Tripathi in an interview. “It's like balancing between acting like him and being true to who he is, adding Atal Ji's charm to everything I do and speak. I did deep research on his speeches, interviews, and writings, aiming to understand not just the surface meaning but also the emotions and beliefs behind his words. This journey allowed me to step into his shoes and portray him with the honesty he deserves. The goal was to truly become Atal Bihari Vajpayee from inside and not just mimic him from the outside.

Tripathi was last seen in Murder Mubarak along with an ensemble of cast including Sara Ali Khan, Tisca Chopra, Karisma Kapoor, Sanjay Kapoor, Vijay Varma and Dimple Kapadia among others. The film is directed by Homi Adajania and is available to stream on Netflix. Meanwhile, Main Atal Hoon is currently available to stream on Zee5.
