No makeup for Alia Bhatt in Aditya Chopra's YRF spy universe

Alia Bhatt will ditch hair and makeup when she joins YRF’s spy universe in 2024. As per a source, Bhatt’s character will be a ‘gender-free’ spy. Aditya Chopra, head honcho at YRF and the creative mind behind building an Indian spy universe in Bollywood, is very keen on reimagining the female hero as someone who is not necessarily glamorous or sexy.

The source added, “She won’t be playing a gender-specific action heroine but a hero like Salman and SRK. Alia will play a makeup-free no-vanity superhero on a mission to save the world.” While there are no official confirmations yet, none of the other popular characters from the YRF spy universe will make a special appearance in Bhatt’s debut film, though this may change with subsequent movies.

The YRF spy universe currently has Salman Khan, Hrithik Roshan, Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone and Katrina Kaif who have starred in successful films like Ek Tha Tiger (2012), Tiger Zinda Hain (2017), War (2019), and most recently Pathaan. Tiger 3 featuring Khan and Kaif will release in December this year and may also have Shah Rukh making a special appearance as Pathaan.
