The upcoming Marathi biopic, Gadkari, based on the life of Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, will be released in theatres on October 27.
The makers shared a short teaser of the film on social media where the actor playing Gadkari says in a voiceover, "When this country is known by its roads, I can happily say I am Nitin Jairam Gadkari."
Commenting on the film, director Anurag Rajan Bhusari said, "Nitin Gadkari is an extraordinary personality in politics. After the poster exhibition, I received many calls. Many people asked me who would play the role of Nitin Gadkari. But this curiosity will disappear soon. The journey from an ordinary activist, social worker to a key cabinet minister is quite inspiring. His personal life is equally interesting."
The biopic is said to be an in-depth portrayal of Gadkari's journey, revealing lesser-known facets of the 'Highway Man of India'. It tries to combine Gadkari's public image as an eloquent leader with his stories from his personal life, to showcase various aspects of his personality. The makers have not revealed which actor is playing Gadkari in the film, and even the film's teaser does not over any glimpse of the artist's face.
The film is produced under the banner of Akshay Deshmukh Films and is directed by Bhusari.
