Mohammad Zeeshan Ayyub on playing Transgender’s Spouse in Haddi

In a recent media interaction, Mohammad Zeeshan Ayyub spoke about his character in the upcoming film Haddi also starring Nawazuddin Siddiqui in a titular role.

“It is a lawyer’s character who chooses the right path to move forward and fight a legal battle against the system whenever problems come upon him. I think it is inspired by all the righteous people who want to fight in a good and correct manner,” said Ayyub.

The actor further added, “I think our society should be more open and accepting towards the husbands of transgender individuals. The character's portrayal as a transgender’s spouse is one of the most important things about the character which attracted me towards this film. I am hopeful that more creators will embrace the opportunity to develop such characters. Regarding the movie, I feel that the matter of love transcends these aspects and focuses on larger themes. I think a beautiful relationship is shared between Harika and my character. I hope people will get inspired by this and more such marriages happen in real life.”

Directed by Akshat Ajay Sharma, Haddi also stars Anurag Kashyap and Resh Lamba in important roles. The film premieres on Zee5 from September 7 onwards.
