Merry Christmas director Sriram Raghavan on casting Katrina Kaif and Vijay Sethupathi in the film

Filmmaker Sriram Raghavan who recently dropped the poster of his upcoming film Merry Christmas starring Katrina Kaif and Vijay Sethupathi in lead roles shared the reason behind casting the two for the film.

Raghavan was quoted on a leading entertainment portal, stating, “When you see the film, you’ll know. The story is such that I just needed a very off-beat pairing or casting and I was trying various combinations and permutations and I happened to meet Vijay at a festival in Melbourne and I’d seen some of his films. I just felt, ‘What if I do this odd combination’ and it has got its curiosity value, I hope.”

The film will see Kaif and Sethupathi teaming up for the first time. Merry Christmas also stars Radhika Apte in a pivotal role and will be released in theatres on December 15.
