Mari Selvaraj, Pa Ranjith, and Dhruv Vikram Team Up for A New Sports Biopic

The makers of actor Dhruv Vikram’s next film announced the project earlier today. Directed by Mari Selvaraj, who will be helming his fifth film, the new project is said to be a sports drama. Previously it was rumored that the film would be based on kabaddi player Manati Ganesh. However, there are no confirmations regarding the topic of the film.

Mari Selvaraj announced the project, in which he will be collaborating with Pa Ranjith and Aditi Anand under the Neelam Studios banner along with Applause Entertainment. This marks the second collaboration between Ranjith and Mari Selvaraj after Pariyerum Perumal. Noted Malayalam actress Anupama Parameswaran will play the female lead.

Dhruv Vikram was last seen in Karthik Subbaraj's Mahaan, in which he starred alongside his father Vikram. He also starred in the music videos for his songs ‘Oru Kaayam, ‘Manase’, and ‘Poomadhiye’. Mari Selvaraj last helmed the Udhayanidhi Stalin, Fahadh Faasil, and Vadivelu starrer Maamannan and is currently working on the Disney Plus Hotstar film Vaazhai. He has also announced a film with Dhanush, with whom he had worked on Karnan. However, there has been no update on the project.

Selvaraj's untitled next is co-produced by director Pa Ranjith’s Neelam Studios.
