Manoj Bajpayee’s Joram to be screened at Durban International Film Festival

Manoj Bajpayee starrer Joram is set to be screened at the Durban International Film Festival. Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub, who also stars in the film, shared the news on social media, writing, “#JORAM continues to break boundaries, this time with its selection in the 'official competition' at the prestigious @DIFFest. Our excitement knows no bounds!”

Directed by Devashish Makhija, Joram follows a hunted displaced man, who is on the run to protect his daughter. The film is set in Jharkhand against the backdrop of inequalities faced by tribal communities and deforestation.

In a statement, Bajpayee said, “Joram is a very special film and (I) am simply fascinated with all the love that the film is garnering at the global level. Devashish has done a laudable job and no one could have backed the project better than Zee Studios. Am delighted that now the film is going to the Durban International Film Festival."

The film had previously traveled to the 52nd International Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR) and was part of the NFDC's Film Bazaar. It will also be traveling to the Sydney Film Festival next week.
