Mammootty’s Kannur Squad Gets A Release Date

Mammootty will be next seen in the crime drama Kannur Squad, where he will be playing a police officer stranded with his three man team on a nationwide manhunt mission. The film is all set to hit the screens on September 28. The plot seems to revolve around a team of low ranking officers traveling across the country to nab a criminal. The film is directed by Roby Varghese Raj who is making his directorial debut after working as a cinematographer in films like The Great Father (2017) and John Luther (2022).

It is bankrolled by Mammootty himself under his production house ‘Mammootty Company”. Kannur Squad is based on a screenplay by actor Rony Varghese Raj, who is making his writing debut alongside co-writer Muhammed Shafi. The film features a soundtrack composed by Sushin Shyam and cinematography by Rahil.

The film will have an ensemble supporting cast which includes Sunny Wayne, Kishore, Vijayaraghavan, Rony David Raj, Azeez Nedumangad and Shabareesh Varma.
