Mammootty: A film's success is not based on reviews

In a recent media interaction, Mammootty spoke about films’ success and how reviews and films have to be kept differently. He was reacting to the present impasse in the film industry over reviewing Malayalam films.

"A film's success is not based on reviews and the best is to allow the reviews and the cinema go their own way," said the actor.

"The film-goers watch a film of their choice without being influenced," he said, adding that film ‘review’ is different from ‘roasting’.

Mammootty has 16 projects lined up for release including Kaathal: The Core, Turbo, Mindscapes, Bramayugam, Yatra 2 among others.
