Aishwarya Rajinikanth is gearing up for the release of her sports drama Lal Salaam, which is set to hit the screens on February 9. The makers of the film recently released the official trailer of the film. 

The trailer hints at a conflict between two communities that occurs during a cultural festival. It introduces Vishnu Vishal as a ruffian who picks fights easily and gets involved in the communal rift. The trailer also hints at strong politicians sowing the seeds of conflict between the communities. Superstar Rajinikanth, who plays Moideen Bhai seems to intervene in the conflict, with a cricket match forming a central issue. 

Lal Salaam was written and directed by Aishwarya Rajinikanth. It is backed by Subaskaran under the Lyca Productions banner and has music by AR Rahman. The film also stars Nirosha, Thambi Ramiah, and a cameo by cricketer Kapil Dev. It has cinematography by Vishnu Rangasamy and editing by B Pravin Baaskar.
