At the ongoing San Diego Comic Con, the makers of Prabhas' Project K unveiled the film's first glimpse and also revealed that the project is now titled Kalki 2898 AD. Set in 2898 AD, the film seems to unfold amidst a war. "When the world is taken over by darkness, a force will rise," the glimpse video tells us as Prabhas is introduced. With lighting guns, smart gadgets and other technologically advanced weapons, it looks like Prabhas and co are on a mission called 'Project K'. On the other hand, Deepika Padukone, who is a part of the antagonist's army, looks dejected and confused in the video. With warm and dark tones, aided by Santhosh Narayanan's score, the glimpse video promises a modern mythological epic.
Written and directed by Nag Ashwin, the dystopian sci-fi film co-stars Kamal Haasan, Amitabh Bachchan and Disha Patani. Santhosh Narayanan has composed the music for the film while Djordje Stojiljkovic has lensed the film and Kotagiri Venkateshwara Rao has handled the editing.
