James Gunn finds his Superman in David Corenswet

David Corenswet will replace Henry Cavill in James Gunn’s Superman: Legacy. Corenswet will be paired opposite Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane. Gunn confirmed the news on his twitter page.

Apart from Corenswet, Nicholas Hoult and Tom Brittney  also auditioned for the prestigious role. Whereas Emma Mackey and Phoebe Dynevor were in contention for the role of Lois Lane. Superman: Legacy will mark the reboot of the DC movie franchise. 

Corenswet will join the elite list of actors to play Superman on the big screen. The list only includes three other actors- Christopher Reeve, Brandon Routh, and Henry Cavill. Superman: Legacy is scheduled to release on July 11, 2025.
