Despite the lack of a prominent star, director Prashant Varma's superhero fantasy film HanuMan was regarded as a winner at the box office. The film faced stiff competition on Sankranthi weekend with releases like Mahesh Babu’s Guntur Karam, Venkatesh’s Saindhav, Nagarjuna’s Naa Saami Ranga, and Dhanush’s Captain Miller being released at the same time. However, the socio-fantasy still seemed to have gained immense success.
On the heels of the success, Prashanth Varma announced that the next film in his Prashanth Varma Cinematic Universe would begin pre-production. On the occasion of the Ram Mandir Pran Prathishta, the director announced that he had begun working on the sequel Jai Hanuman.
HanuMan starred Teja Sajja, Amritha Aiyer, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, and Vinay Rai in lead roles. The film was backed by Kandagatla Niranjan Reddy under the Primeshow Entertainment banner. Dasaradhi Sivendra handled the cinematography while the music was handled by Anudeep Dev, GowraHari, and Krishna Saurabh.
