Kareena Kapoor Khan’s debut OTT film is called Jaane Jaan. Khan and Netflix announced the title and dropped a first look of the film on Instagram. Jaane Jaan, directed by Sujoy Ghosh, stars Khan, Jaideep Ahlawat and Vijay Varma in the central roles. The film is an Indian adaptation of the Japanese novel The Devotion of Suspect X.
Jaane Jaan will premiere on Netflix on September 21, which is Khan’s birthday. Sharing the video on Instagram, Netflix added the caption, “Jaane Jaan is coming on our very own Jaane Jaan’s birthday @kareenakapoorkhan Mark your calendars for a present like no other. #JaaneJaan arrives 21 September, only on Netflix!”
The first look of the romance thriller begins with Khan singing in a dark room, her face lit with a pink light. It then introduces Ahlawat and Varma’s characters, transitions into a rapid edit of shots from the film and ends with a blood-tinged title card. As promised in the teaser released yesterday, Khan is seen in a new minimal makeup look while Ahlawat sports a clean-shaven face and a balding hairline.
This is the first time that Khan has worked with Ghosh, Ahlawat and Varma and the film marks her debut on an OTT platform.
