It will appeal to animal lovers, action lovers, and superhero-vigilante genre lovers: Anshuman Jha on the streaming release of Lakadbaggha

Anshuman Jha starrer Lakadbaggha is set to release on Zee5 on June 30. The Victor Mukherjee directorial follows an animal-lover vigilante who tries to bust an illegal animal trade cell.

The film released in theatres in January but despite raving reviews failed to make a mark at the box office. Talking about its theatrical run Jha said, “Theatrical is a different beast in current times. Bigger films like Shabaash Mithoo or Bheed didn't reach as many viewers in theatres. Lakadbaggha has got action, good reviews, and everyone who saw it liked it. But getting people into theatres is a big challenge in today's day and age for everyone.”

Further speaking about the Zee5 release, Jha said, “Hoping that it becomes the most viewed film of the year on the platform. My last release Hum Bhi Akele, Tum Bhi Akele (2019) was an OTT Exclusive release and did wonders so I am hoping this one goes one better & becomes my biggest digital release. It will appeal to animal lovers, action lovers, and superhero-vigilante genre lovers. This is a family film for anyone from 5 to 100 years of age.”

Lakadbaggha also stars Riddhi Dogra, Milind Soman, and Eksha Kerung.
