Friends actor Matthew Perry found dead in a Jacuzzi, Drowning believed to be the Cause

Actor Matthew Perry, famous for his role as Chandler Bing in the iconic sitcom Friends, died due to drowning at the age of 54. Perry's death was confirmed by law enforcement sources and reported by TMZ.

According to TMZ, Perry was found dead at a residence in the Los Angeles area on Saturday. The actor was found in a jacuzzi at the location, and it was noted that no drugs were found on the scene. It is believed that Perry may have drowned.

In response to the incident, a spokesperson for the Los Angeles Police Department informed PEOPLE that officers were dispatched to Perry's residence after they received a call regarding the death of a male in his 50s. However, the identity of the deceased was not confirmed by the police at that time.

TMZ also said that no evidence of foul play was uncovered in connection with Perry's death. Their sources disclosed that first-responders were summoned to the residence for what appeared to be a case of cardiac arrest.

After playing supporting characters in several television series, Perry got his fame when he recurred as Chazz Rusell in Boys will be Boys from 1987 to 1988. He got his major breakthrough in the 1994 sitcom Friends.
