Vineeth Sreenivasan’s Varshangalkku Shesham gets teaser (Malayalam)

Vineeth Sreenivasan will be next helming the period film Varshangalkku Shesham, which reunites many actors he has worked with before. The makers recently released the teaser of the film. The film stars his Hridhayam actors Pranav Mohanlal and Kalyani Priyadarshan in lead roles, along with Dhyan Srinivasan, Aju Varghese, Neeta Pillai, and more.

Varshangalkku Shesham was written and directed by Vineeth Sreenivasan and is backed by Visakh Subramaniam under the Merryland Cinemas banner. Amrith Ramnath handles the music while Viswajith Odukkathil handles the cinematography.

Gautham Menon’s Joshua Imai Pol Kaakha gets a release date (Tamil)

Gautham Menon was awaiting the release of his spy thriller Dhruva Natchathiram, but the film was postponed indefinitely. Now, the filmmaker and actor announced that his other action film which was stuck on the shelves, Joshua Imai Pol Kaakha would be released on March 1. Menon announced that the Varun starrer would be released in cinemas.

Joshua Imai Pol Kaakha is backed by Ishari K Ganesh under the Vels Films International banner and co-stars Raahei, Yogi Babu, and Mansoor Ali Khan. The film has music by Karthik and cinematography by Kathir.

Darshan’s next is titled Devil (Kannada)

On the occasion of actor Darshan’s birthday, the makers of his next film Devil: The Hero released a teaser. The teaser shows the actor, who was last seen in the social drama Kaatera, in a new light. He is seen as a villainous character in the film, hinting at him being an anti-hero in the commercial entertainer.

Devil is directed by Prakash Veer and is backed by J Jayamma under the Sri Jaimatha Combines and Vaishno Studios banner. The film has music by B Ajaneesh Loknath while Sudhakarr S Raj handles the cinematography.

Sivakarthikeyan’s SK21 gets a teaser and a title (Tamil)

The makers of Sivakarthikeyan’s next film with Rajkumar Periasamy recently unveiled it's title teaser. Titled Amaran, the military action drama sees SK stray away from his usual comedic persona and lead a war against terrorism in Kashmir. The teaser indicates that the team he leads is a brutal force that hopes to vanquish terrorism from the area.

Amaran, which was previously titled SK21 is written and directed by Rajkumar Periasamy. It is backed by Kamal Haasan and R Mahendran under the Raaj kamal Films International banner, in association with Sony Pictures International. The film also stars Sai Pallavi in the lead role. GV Prakash Kumar handles the music while CH Sai handles the cinematography.

'Enai Neengathe Nee' - Kishen Das reunites with music composer Darbuka Siva (Tamil)

After the super hit Mudhal Nee Mudivum Nee movie and song, Kishen Das and Darbuka Siva reunite to give us a love anthem 'Enai Neengathe Nee'. Having released it as a valentine special song, the melody number is part of Das' upcoming film Tharunam. The song has lyrics by Madhan Karky and vocals by Kapil Kapilan & Pavithra Chari.

Tharunam is written and directed by Arvindh Srinivasan. Produced by Pugaz & Eden of Zhen Studios, the film co-stars Smruthi Venkat and Raj Iyappan. While Raja Bhattacharjee is the cinematographer, Arul Elango Siddharth is the editor.

Fahadh Faasil’s next titled Karate Chandran (Malayalam)

Fahadh Faasil is set to collaborate with Dileesh Pothan again, with the latter joining as a producer this time. The actor will be featured in Pothan’s Bhavana Studios Production venture Karate Chandran. The film is directed by Roy and is written by S Hareesh and Vinoy Thomas. The makers released the front page of the script for the film along with a few stills of Faasil in a karate costume. The film would be Bhavana Studios’ sixth production.

Jr. NTR’s Devara gets a new release date (Telugu)

The makers of Jr. NTR’s next pan-Indian film Devara announced that the film would be released on October 10, 2024, instead of April 5 as planned before. The announcement was accompanied by a poster featuring Jr. NTR in a heroic avatar.

Devara is written and directed by Koratala Siva. It also stars Jahnavi Kapoor in her South Indian debut, as well as Saif Ali Khan and Prakash Raj. Anirudh Ravichander composes the music while R Ratnavelu and Sreekar Prasad handle the cinematography and editing respectively.

Darshan reunites with Tharun Sudhir and Prem in his next two films (Kannada)

After the massive success of Kaatera, director Tharun Sudhir announced that he would be collaborating for the third time with actor Darshan in the actor’s upcoming film D59. The duo had previously joined hands on the action entertainer Roberrt before Kaatera. The upcoming film will reportedly be produced by Shylaja Nag and B Suresh under the Media House Studio banner. Regular collaborator V Harikrishna is set to rejoin as a music director.

Darshan also announced that he would be collaborating with director Prem on his next film. The makers released a glimpse of the film on the occasion of the actor’s birthday. The untitled film is touted to be an action entertainer with religious and mythological elements. KVN Productions is set to produce the film. Prem and Darshan will be collaborating after two decades, with their previous collaboration being Prem’s debut film Kariya.

Ram Pothineni’s Double iSmart gets a new release date (Telugu)

Actor Ram Pothineni’s next film with Puri Jagannath is Double iSmart. The makers announced that the sequel, which was scheduled to be released on March 8 is officially postponed and the film will now be released on June 14. it is a sequel to the duo’s hit entertainer iSmart Shankar

Like the predecessor, Double iSmart is produced by Puri Jagannadh and actor Charmie Kaur under the Puri Connects Banner. The film also stars Sanjay Dutt and has music by Mani Sharma. Gianni Ginelli handles the cinematography.

Unni Mukundan’s Jai Ganesh gets a teaser (Malayalam)

Unni Mukundan will be starring in the superhero film Jai Ganesh. The makers of the film recently released a teaser which is set against a fictional town called Siddha Nadu and sees the actor face huge difficulties as he loses both of his legs in an accident.

Jai Ganesh was written and directed by Ranjith Sankar and is backed by Dreams N Beyond and Unni Mukund Films banners. The film also stars Mahima Nambiar, Ravindra Vijay, Jomol, Hareesh Perady, Ashokan, Nandhu, Benzi Mathews, Srikanth K Vijayan, Ann Saleem, and Vinod Rajan. Sankar Sharma handles the music while Chandru Selvaraj cranks the camera.

Meera Jasmine announces her next film (Malayalam)

Meera Jasmine recently released the poster of her upcoming film Paalum Pazhavum. The VK Prakash directorial reportedly sees the prominent star featuring along with Aswin Jose of Queen fame. The film is produced by Vinidh Unnithan and Sameer Sait and also stars Shanthi Krishna, Ashokan, and Maniyanpilla Raju. Gopi Sunder handles the music while Ashish Rajani Unnikrishnan writes the screenplay.

Emraan Hashmi joins Adivi Sesh’s G2 (Telugu)

Hindi cinema’s Emraan Hashmi has reportedly joined the cast of Adivi Sesh’s G2. The actor was last seen in the film Tiger 3 and will also be making his Telugu cinema debut with the film OG. Adivi Sesh, who writes and headlines G2 announced the actor’s inclusion and expressed his admiration.

The sequel to 2018’s Goodachari, G2 is directed by debutant Vinay Kumar Sirigineedi, who was the editor of Sesh’s Major. The sequel is backed by TG Vishwa Prasad, Abhishek Agarwal, and Abhishek Nama. G2 is said to star Banita Sandhu, who is known for starring in October, Sardhar Udham, and the recent AP Dhillon music video With You. The film is backed under the banners of People Media Factory, Abhishek Agarwal Arts, and AK Entertainment.

Rama Rama Re’s Satya Prakash announces his next, debuts as lead (Kannada)

Director Satya Prakash, who is known for his socially conscious films such as Rama Rama Re and Ondalla Eradalla, recently announced his next film. Titled, X & Y, the film sees Satya Prakash take on the lead role as well, making his debut as an actor. The makers released the first look poster of the film, which shows Prakash in the centre with a helmet while a sea of sperms goes towards him as the helmet acts as a beacon of light.

X & Y is produced by Satya Prakash under his Satya Pictures banner. The film also stars Atharva Prakash, Brinda Acharya, Ayana, Veena Sundar, and more. Vasuki Vaibhav handles the music while Lavith cranks the camera.

Rukmini Vasanth joins Sivakarthikeyan in AR Murugadoss’ next (Tamil)

Rukmini Vasanth, who is known for her appearance in Sapta Sagaradaache Ello, will be joining the cast of Sivakarthikeyan’s upcoming film with AR Murugadoss. The makers made the announcement by sharing pictures of the film's formal puja ceremony. Murugadoss has previously scripted Sivakarthikeyan’s breakout film Maan Karate. The upcoming film reportedly has Anirudh Ravichander handling the music while Sreekar Prasad handles the editing.

Dhananjay announces next production with actor Prakyath (Kannada)

Actor Dhananjay, who was last seen in the film Gurudev Hoysala has been encouraging newcomers and stories of the soil from his production house Daali Pictures. The actor has now backed filmmaker Chethan Jayaram in his debut feature. The film will reportedly star Prakyath of Naduve Antharavirali fame in the lead. It is said to be an action drama based on true events that occurred in central jail. The untitled film has Karthik as the cinematographer and Rohit Sower as the music director.
