Dhoom and Dhoom 2 Director Sanjay Gadvi Passes Away at 56, Collapses in Lobby

Filmmaker Sanjay Gadvi, best known for directing two blockbuster films from the famous Dhoom franchise, Dhoom (2004) and Dhoom 2 (2006) died of a heart attack. An official statement from the family is yet to come.

Gadvi was soon to turn 57 on November 22, his last directorial film was Operation Parindey in 2020. Apart from directing the Dhoom series, Gadvi is also known for films like Kidnap () starring Sanjay Dutt, Imran Khan and Minissha Lamba.

He gained fame with Yash Raj Films’ Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi Hai (2002) featuring Jimmy Shergill, Uday Chopra, Bipasha Basu, Shamita Shetty and Tulip Joshi among others. The film failed to make a mark at the box office. It was only the Dhoom franchise that brought Gadvi to fame.
