Dhadkan 2: Will Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty and Shilpa Shetty Reprise their Roles

Filmmaker Dharmesh Darshan best known to direct films like Raja Hindustani (1996), Dhadkan (2000), Lootere (1993) is planning to remake his film Dhadkan. In an interview with Bollywood Hungama, Darshan hinted that the film might not be a direct sequel to the classic 2000 romantic drama, but could offer an "absolutely fresh take on modern cinema by a newly reinvented Dharmesh Sheela Darshan."

Dhadkan featured Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty and Shilpa Shetty. The film which was made with a budget of Rs.9 crores earned Rs.26 crores at the box office making it one of the blockbuster films of that year.

Shetty, who played the character of Dev in the film was earlier offered to actors like Bobby Deol and Arbaaz Khan but both rejected to play the nemesis in the film while Shetty accepted the role and won hearts.
