Barry Keoghan drops out of Ridley Scott’s Gladiator sequel

Gladiator 2 is an upcoming historical epic starring Paul Mescal, Pedro Pascal, and Denzel Washington

Banshees of Inisherin (2022) star Barry Keoghan has dropped out of Ridley Scott’s Gladiator 2 citing scheduling conflicts. Keoghan was supposed to play the role of Emperor Geta in the upcoming feature. 

It is reported that Keoghan is replaced by The White Lotus fame Fred Hechinger. He also has Marvel’s Kraven the Hunter lined up next. Hechinger was also recently seen in Pale Blues Eyes (2022) and Pam & Tommy (2022).

Keoghan hopped onboard Andrea Arnold’s Bird and Emerald Fennel’s Saltburn. He is also the Joker in Matt Reeves’ Batman series.

Gladiator 2 stars Paul Mescal along with Pedro Pascal, Denzel Washington, Joseph Quinn, and Connie Nielsen.
