The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has granted Ayushmann Khurrana and Ananya Panday starrer Dream Girl 2, a U/A certificate. The examining committee asked for four changes, muting or modifying dialogues with expletives or sexual innuendo.

The CBFC also asked the makers to insert an anti-smoking advertisement and place an anti-smoking ticker in the scenes where a character is seen smoking. The film’s run time as per the censor certificate on August 16 was 133 minutes, or 2 hours and 13 minutes. However, a report in Bollywood Hungama says that the makers approached the CBFC on August 21 and asked that 28 minutes of footage be removed from the film. They then added about 25 minutes of footage, bringing the final run time of the movie to 130 minutes or 2 hours and 10 minutes.

A source told the portal, “It is very rare for a filmmaker to add and remove so many scenes voluntarily, that too after receiving the censor certificate. Once these changes were carried out, the final run time of Dream Girl 2 turned out to be 130 minutes.”

Dream Girl 2 stars Khurrana, Panday, Paresh Rawal, Annu Kapoor, Manjot Singh, Vijay Raaz, Seema Bhargava Pahwa and Abhishek Banerjee. The film is directed by Raaj Shaandilyaa and produced by Ektaa R Kapoor and Shobha Kapoor.
