Arunraja Kamaraj And Jai Team Up For Disney+ Hotstar's Label

Disney+ Hotstar has been expanding its original content stream in Tamil space recently and the team recently put out an introductory video for a new series titled Label (2023), which is touted to be a legal thriller. The announcement video features shots of a handcuffed person inside a prison cell and the insides of a courtroom, all of which ensures a legal thriller that is set within the confines of a courtroom.

The video begins with a snapshot of constitutional rights, and promises to be an innocent man’s fight for justice from the system. The gloomy, dark color palette of the announcement video does provide a sneak peek into the show that might be dealing with some harsh subject matter. The Disney+ Hotstar original special is being directed by lyricist turned filmmaker Arunaraja Kamaraj who helmed the Sivakarthikeyan starrer Kanaa (2018).

The series stars Jai, Tanya Hope, Mahendran, Charan Raj, Sriman, Ilavarasu, Suresh Chakravarthy in the leading cast. Label will also mark director Arunraja Kamaraj’s streaming debut. Dinesh Krishnan cranks the camera for the limited series which will feature music by Sam CS. The series is produced under the banners of Muthamizh Padaippagam Productions and ARK Entertainment.

The team has not yet revealed the release date of the show but it's expected to hit the streamer soon. The show is expected to have a Telugu language version in addition to the original Tamil release.
