Anoop Menon and VK Prakash Reunite for Beautiful 2

Anoop Menon will be collaborating with director VK Prakash on a sequel to their hit film Beautiful (2011) which featured Jayasurya, Anoop Menon and Meghana Raj in the lead roles. The screenplay of the film, which enjoys a cult status among Malayalees, was penned by Anoop Menon, partially influenced by The Intouchables (2011). 

Menon took to his social media page to announce the film, which is titled Beautiful 2. While he will reprise his role, the film will have a new cast in place of Jayasurya and Meghana Raj. The original narrated the story of a quadriplegic millionaire who befriends a late-night bar singer and embarks on a journey of self-discovery.

Menon has scripted the sequel as well. The cinematography will be handled by Jomon T. John whereas editing will be done by Mahesh Narayanan. The film will have music by Ratheesh Vega, whose original score and album for the first instalment contributed largely to the film's iconic status. Beautiful 2 is produced by Badusha Productions and Yes Cinema Company and the crew will begin the film’s shoot in Vancouver in January next year.
