Amitabh Bachchan Joins the cast of Ramayana, Rakul Preet Singh to play Shurpanakha

The casting for filmmaker Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana is going on in full swing. The film starring Ranbir Kapoor as Ram, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Yash as Ravan, Sunny Deol as Hanuman, Lara Dutta as Kaikeyi will now have Amitabh Bachchan joining the cast along with Rakul Preet Singh as Shurpanakha.

According to a Times of India report, Bachchan has been roped in to play the role of Raja Dashrath in the film.

Ramayana will go on floors in March 2024 with Kapoor and Pallavi, Deol will shoot his part in May while Yash will join the cast in July. The makers are planning to wrap up the shoot before Diwali 2025. The film will be made as a three part series.
