Akshay Kumar's Mission Raniganj gets a standing ovation from the Central Board of Film Certification

Akshay Kumar's upcoming film Mission Raniganj has received a U/A certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). Unlike his last release OMG 2 which received 27 cuts and an A certificate, Mission Raniganj has not run into any issues with the CBFC.

As per a report in ETimes, the film received a standing ovation from the CBFC members. A source who was reportedly present at the screening told the portal, that the board members were moved by the film's depiction of real life events from 1989, when mining engineer Jaswant Singh Gill heroically raced against the clock to save 65 miners trapped hundreds of feet below the ground.

Mission Raniganj is directed by Tinu Suresh Desai and produced by Vashu Bhagnani, Jackky Bhagnani, Deepshikha Deshmukh, Ajay Kapoor. The film will be released in theatres on October 6.
