Akshay Kumar’s film OMG 2 records a big jump in collections on Independence Day

Inspite of the stiff competition posed by Sunny Deol’s Gadar 2, Akshay Kumar, Pankaj Tripathi and Yami Gautam starrer OMG 2 is holding its own at the box office. The film’s collections saw a large jump on August 15 which was a holiday for Independence Day. As per a report in E Times, the film saw collections to the tune of Rs 18.50 crore on August 15. The film has earned a total of approximately Rs 73.67 crore in five days.

OMG 2 opened with earnings of Rs 10.26 crore on Day 1 and continued to grow slowly, recovering from a dip on Monday, August 14, with a huge spike in earnings on August 15. 

The film, written and directed by Amit Rai, was awarded an A certificate by the Central Board of Film Certification. The makers were asked to make multiple edits and modifications due to the nature of its storyline before it was cleared for release.
