Akshay Kumar has reportedly given his nod to Mudassar Aziz’s film, which is an adaptation of the Italian comedy-drama Perfect Strangers (2016). Aziz’s film has reportedly been titled Khel Khel Mein and shoot for the project is likely to commence in October this year. Perfect Strangers is a hugely successful film that has been remade across the world since it was released in 2016.
A source close to the development said, “Mudassar Aziz has been eager to make an Indian version of it for a long time and has adapted the screenplay in a desi style to suit the sensibilities of Indian audiences. Akshay headlines the narrative, while Taapsee Pannu and Vaani Kapoor have been brought on board to play the leading ladies," The source added that the film will be shot in a single two-month schedule in the UK.
Kumar has four films lined up for release in the months to come. His film OMG 2 with Pankaj Tripathi and Yami Gautam releases on August 11, The Great Indian Rescue on October 5, the Hindi adaptation of Tamil superhit Soorarai Pottru on February 16, 2024, and Ali Abbas Zafar’s Bade Miyan Chote Miyan opposite Tiger Shroff, that has been scheduled for Eid 2024. Kumar also recently announced his association with the fifth instalment of the Housefull franchise being produced by Sajid Nadiadwala.
