Akshay Kumar has dropped the teaser of his upcoming film Mission Raniganj. The film is based on real-life events from 1989 when 65 workers got trapped 350 feet below the ground at the Raniganj coalfields. Jaswant Singh Gill (played by Kumar), an engineer at the coalfield, led a daring rescue operation to make sure the workers were saved on time. The teaser promises an inspiring story of how a common man's courage and innovative thinking became the last hope for 65 helpless souls.

Mission Raniganj stars Kumar, Parineeti Chopra, Kumud Mishra, Pavan Malhotra, Ravi Kishan, Varun Badola, Dibyendu Bhattacharya, Rajesh Sharma, Virendra Saxena, Shishir Sharma, Ananth Mahadevan, Jameel Khan, Sudhir Pandey, Bachan Pachera, Mukesh Bhatt, and Omkar Das Manikpuri.

The film is directed by Tinu Suresh Desai and produced by Vashu Bhagnani, Jackky Bhagnani, Deepshikha Deshmukh and Ajay Kapoor. Mission Raniganj will be released in theatres on October 6.
