Agastya Nanda and his Character in The Archies Have This in Common

The young cast members of Netflix film The Archies, along with producer Reema Kagti and Netflix India's vice president of content, Monica Shergill, attended a special session on first day of the India Today Mumbai Conclave 2023. Agastya Nanda, Dot, Suhana Khan, Khushi Kapoor, Mihir Ahuja, Vedang Raina and Yuvraj Menda from the film's cast were present during the session titled, 'New Kids on the Block: Meet the Gen Z of Bollywood aka The Archies Gang'. 

Nanda will be playing the role of Archie Andrews in the film while Khan and Kapoor play the roles of Veronica Lodge and Betty Cooper respectively. Commenting on similarities between himself and his character in the film Nanda said, "I wouldn't call myself a casanova. Something that we do share in common is our love for music, because it helps you deal with a lot of emotions and that's where we are kind of similar, and yes, I am definitely not a casanova."

Speaking about his debut in the Netflix film Nanda commented, "I don't think you choose The Archies. It was Zoya who chose and we auditioned for it. Being on Netflix is such an exciting opportunity, being streamed in 190 countries at once. I find it so exciting. I couldn't have asked for a better team of people to work with. These guys over here have become my best friends and we hang out a lot, actually a bit too much."

The Archies also stars Dot as Ethel Muggs, Ahuja as Jughead Jones, Raina as Reggie Mantle and Menda as Dilton Doiley. The film is directed by Zoya Akhtar and produced by Akhtar and Kagti under their banner Tiger Baby Productions.
