Abhishek Bachchan and Saiyami Kher starrer Ghoomer gets a standing ovation at the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne

Directed by R Balki, the film also stars Shabana Azmi and Angad Bedi

Abhishek Bachchan and Saiyami Kher’s Ghoomer starrer sports drama film received a standing ovation at the opening night of the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IFFM) 2023.

Bachchan said, “I’m grateful for this platform for the world premiere of our film. Ghoomer is a labour of love. This has been Balki’s dream for a long time. I don’t think there’s any better way of giving back to a game you love so passionately, by making a film dedicated to it".

Ghoomer is a film where Bachchan plays a coach to a sports woman played by Kher whose life takes a sudden twist after she meets with an accident. Their journey together unfolds against societal challenges and personal struggles with an inspiring message.

Directed by R Balki, the film stars Bachchan, Kher, Shabana Azmi and Angad Bedi in the lead roles and will hit theaters on 18 August.
