The biopic of legendary Srilankan cricketer Muttiah Muralitharan which has been in the making for the past few years is all set for its theatrical release. The sports drama titled 800 stars Madhur Mittal in the lead role and will hit the screens on October 6.
The team had shared the official trailer for the film a few days ago, offering a glimpse into the world of the expansive biopic that aims to cover the major events in the life of the cricketing icon while also addressing key political and social issues that impacted his nation, back in the day. 800 is touted to be one of the most expensive sports biopics produced from the country till date.
The release date announcement poster features a profile shot of a fierce looking Madhur Mittal in fame with a ball in hand. 800 is directed by debutant MS Sripathy who has earlier worked alongside filmmakers like Venkat Prabhu and Pa Ranjith.
The period sports film co-stars Mahima Nambiar, Naren, Naaser, and Vela Ramamurthy Riythvika in supporting roles. RD Rajasekar ISC has lensed the film, while Praveen KL has handled the editing. The film has music by Ghibran and is all set to be released in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi and English.
