Actor Jaggesh is gearing up for the release of the long-awaited Raghavendra Stores. Directed by Santhosh Ananddram and backed by Hombale Films, the film is their first collaboration with the prolific actor. Jaggesh promises his audiences that they will witness him in a fresh avatar.

Jaggesh plays the role of Hayavadana, a cook and a restaurateur who remains unmarried at the age of forty. The film follows his quest to find a suitable bride who accepts his profession. Billed as a comedy, the film also has a message for the masses, the actor says.

“Raghavendra Stores has every element that one expects in a film like this. The film’s world is very beautiful; the makers have created a unique town called Rasabale. It will leave you in stitches and still have something to say to society. This is something I have always followed in my films,” says the actor.

Speaking about exploring such new opportunities at the age of 60, the actor says, ”This is a very special film for me because they have given me a new kind of role. After a certain age, we always think that we will not be able to pull off certain roles. But it is not true. Dr Rajkumar was still a leading man at the age of 78. As long as we are healthy and fit, we can pull off certain roles.”

Director Santhosh Ananddram is known for his successful collaborations with actors Yash and Puneeth Rajkumar. Jaggesh is all praises about the director and his team. “Sathosh made three great films, out of which two were with Puneeth Rajkumar and then he chose me to play the lead in his fourth. I admire his team a lot. They work on the script for months and then keep a short shooting schedule. No other team can come close to such a work ethic. Moreover, one of the most prestigious production houses in the country i.e. Hombale Films is a part of this project. So I consider myself lucky,” the actor concludes.
