Writer-director Devashish Makhija and actor Manoj Bajpayee have a unique creative tuning. Their short film Taandav received rave reviews and has more than 2 million views on YouTube. The two have collaborated again on a feature film Bhonsle whose poster they unveiled at the Cannes Film Festival. The film is “an unrequited love story” between a retired police officer and a young girl who moves in next door that takes place over the 10 days of Ganesh Chaturthi. Speaking about directing Manoj, Devashish says, “He’s like this little piece of clay that I can mould into anything.”
