From Satyadev Kancharana And Ritu Varma To Adhi Pinisetty: 10 Underrated Actors In The Telugu Film Industry

The Telugu film industry is filled with superstars with huge fan bases and artistes with immense talent. The second category does not always get the recognition due for their talent. Performances go unnoticed either because the film has not reached enough audiences or because of the massive competition.

Here's a list of young leading actors whose works you should be seeing more of

Naveen Polishetty

Naveen is a known face in the YouTube scene and has also essayed short roles in films such as Life is Beautiful and 1 Nenokkadine. In D For Dopidi, he was among the primary cast in the ensemble and although his performance was impressive, there wasn't much recognition. But, with Agent Sai Srinivasa Atreya (which he co-wrote), the actor showed off his acting chops and proved he's here to stay. He was also part of the superhit Hindi film Chhichhore. We're definitely looking forward to what the actor has in store for TFI and hope that he gets the credit that he deserves.

Sharwanand

Although the actor has several hits like Run Raja Run, Sathamanam Bhavati, Malli Malli Idi Rani Roju and Gamyam attached to his name, Sharwanand doesn't get enough praise for his amazing talent. His performances in Gamyam, Amma Cheppindi, Prasthanam and Journey especially stand out. He also played the lead in Jaanu, reprising Vijay Sethupathi's role in the original 96. From playing small character roles and being a part of ensembles to being a deserving leading actor, the actor's journey has only refined his craft.

Adhi Pinisetty

Telugu films are yet to tap into the full potential of the brilliant Adhi, who also has some great performances in Tamil. He has proven himself to be capable of nuanced performances in films such as Vaishali  and Gundello Godari but the Telugu audience started noticing his acting chops in Sarrainodu and Ninnu Kori. He got nothing but praise in Rangasthalam, Neevevaro and U-Turn

Naveen Chandra

Naveen Chandra came to light as the intense 'Surya' in Andala Rakshasi. After multiple films in Telugu and Tamil, the audience took note of him as Siddharth Varma in Nenu Local. He has proven his capabilities in Devadasu and Aravinda Samethe Veera Raghava. There's still a lot of undiscovered potential in this young man.

Ritu Varma

The actress who bagged the Nandi Award for her role in Pelli Choopulu, started out by doing short films and brief appearances in films such as Baadshah and Yevade Subramanyam. Her performances in Pelli Choopulu, VIP2 and Kanulu Kanulanu Dochayante (the dubbed version of Kannum Kannum Kollaiyadithaal) have impressed.

Srinivas Avasarala

The actor who started out as the funny Anand in Ashta Chamma, went on to become a dialogue writer, screenwriter, television presenter and director. He was lauded for his performances in Ashta Chamma, Pilla Zamindar, Oohalu Gusagusalade and Jyo Achyutananda. He's among the most talented in Telugu, and deserves better roles.

Sundeep Kishan

Sundeep Kishan made a remarkable debut with Prasthanam and followed this up with good performances in Routine Love Story, Gundello Godari, Venkatadri Express and D for Dopidi. He has also ventured into Tamil films and garnered a good response.

Priyadarshi

It's impossible to forget Kaushik from Pelli Choopulu, all thanks to the brilliant Priyadarshi. His comic timing was impeccable and his Telangana accent was spot-on. He has acted in many comedic roles since, but it wasn't till Awe that people realised he has so much more to offer. His nuanced performance in Mallesham was highly appreciated.

Malavika Nair

Malavika Nair featured in a few Malayalam films before she got to do Yevade Subramanyam. Her performances in Kalyana Vaibhogame, Mahanati and Taxiwala were well received. She always puts forth a matured performance despite starting at a very young age.

Satyadev Kancharana

Today, he's better known for Venkatesh Maha's Uma Maheswara Ugra Roopasya on Netflix, but Satyadev started off as a short film maker before pursuing acting. He has appeared in films like Mr Perfect, Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu, Attarintiki Daredi and Mukunda. His roles in Kshanam, The Ghazi Attack, Antariksham 9000 KMPH, Bluff Master and Brochevarevarura were applauded. And yes, we need to see more of him on screen.
