Pawan Kalyan’s Vakeel Saab Motion Poster: Pink’s Telugu Remake Looks Set For A Massy Reimagining

On actor-politician Pawan Kalyan's 49th birthday, the makers of Vakeel Saab launched the first look motion poster of the film that will mark his return to the big screen after a gap of some years. His previous film was the 2018 Trivikram Srinivas film Agnyaathavaasi, which ended up a major disappointment.

The motion poster starts off with photos of Mahatma Gandhi and BR Ambedkar hanging on a court room wall. Pages of Criminal Law and the Indian Penal Code fly about as Pawan Kalyan, all suited up in black and white, makes his entry (feet first, even in a poster) holding on to a lathi. A lathi on one hand and a criminal law book on the other suggests his mixed approach towards justice.

The background score is by S Thaman and the words 'Satyameva Jayate' repeat on loop as the Power Star makes his entry. But unlike the initial posters of Pink and Nerkonda Paarvai, the first look of the film does not feature the three female leads who play important roles.  The Tamil version, deviating from the original, had included a big fight scene for Ajith, apparently to appease a section of the actor's massive fan base. Such additions are expected even in the Telugu version.

A remake of the Amithabh Bachchan-Taapsee Pannu starrer Pink, the film is being directed by Venu Sriram, who had made Oh My Friend and Middle Class Abbayi.

At first glance, it looks like Nivetha Thomas will be reprising the role played by Taapsee in the original with Anjali playing Kirti Kulhari's role. Ananya Natalia too is playing an important character in the film. Initial reports also suggest that Prakash Raj will be playing the opposing lawyer to Pawan Kalyan's character.

The film is produced by Dil Raju and Boney Kapoor (he had produced Nerkonda Paarvai as well). It is being shot by PS Vinod, who most recently shot Allu Arjun's blockbuster Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo.
