This is the third Prabhas film announcement of this lockdown. The first was the poster launch of Radhe Shyam, a romantic-drama opposite Pooja Hegde, directed by Radha Krishna Kumar. WELCOMING THE SUPERSTAR. ♥️ #DeepikaPrabhas @actorprabhas @deepikapadukone @nag_ashwin
Adipurush follows in the footsteps of Prabhas’ other multilingual films, making him the de-facto pan-Indian star. But ironically, he finds promoting these films to his large audience, a nightmare. When he spoke with us during the promotions of Saaho, he made it quite clear that this was not his cup of tea.
“I am not used to promotions in my Telugu films. After 17 years, I still get this feeling ‘Oh god my film is releasing.’ Here (Bollywood) it is another level. When we came for Baahubali, I was getting a heart attack and Rajamouli was calming me, “Cool cool cool, It’s okay, it’s okay, it’s okay. For the second part (of Baahubali) I thought I won’t come. But the distributor and Rajamouli would have killed me. I’ll never get used to it. But I hope I get used to it, because I’ll be more happy.”
But despite his shyness, his brand flourishes. A mere announcement is enough to swamp Twitter trends. “I am lazy, shy and cannot meet people – three problems I have. Even I think about why am I in this field? But luckily Baahubali happened so I don’t have a choice… I don’t want that shyness, it’s uncomfortable even for me. It takes time for me to meet new people. I want to be comfortable.”
