Director and Producer Nagraj Manjule recently produced Hemant Awtade’s Ghar Banduk Biryani. The film is all set to release on Zee5. Manjule himself acted in the film.
Talking about how he chooses films to direct and produce, Manjule said, “Authenticity matters to me. Stories have to be authentic and interesting. I strive to do something different each time. I have produced Naal previously and that was a different genre. I also produced Frame with ZEE and now Ghar Banduk Biryani. All three films are made of different flavours and colours. I am happy to open opportunities for three talented directors. Be it a heart-touching story like Naal (2018) or Vikram Patwardhan’s Frame or Hemant Awtade’s Ghar Banduk Biryani. I don’t have any hard and fast rule to choose my scripts. I go with my gut.”
On being asked about what he hopes from the Streaming release of Ghar Banduk Biryani, he said, “I feel the audience will enjoy watching the film on ZEE5. People prefer OTT nowadays. Whoever watched it in the theatre enjoyed it immensely so I am sure they will enjoy it equally on ZEE5 as well.”
Ghar Banduk Biryani is streaming on Zee5.
