Vadakkan, A Malayalam Thriller Inspired By Dravidian Folklore Announced

Sajeed A’s Vadakkan (The Man from the North), a Malayalam supernatural thriller based on ancient Dravidian folklore and mythology was recently announced. Starring Kishore and Shruti Menon, the film is produced by Offbeet Studios, making it the studio’s first independently produced film.  

Said to be deeply rooted in Malayali culture, the film has sound design by Resul Pookutty, camerawork by Keiko Nakahara, music by Bijibal, and screenplay and dialogue by Unni R.

Popular singer-songwriter Zeb Bangash has also been roped in to sing original songs for the film, which is said to weave in multi-genre music and sound design to add to its genre. 

The Malayalam film will also be dubbed in Kannada and the makers have plans for its release in other regional languages as well.
