After her winning acclaim for her performance in Mani Ratnam’s Ponniyin Selvan films, Trisha will be seen next essaying the lead role in a crime drama titled The Road (2023). The 96 actress will be playing a woman who takes it upon herself to unearth the cause of a series of freak accidents in a particular highway blindspot that has claimed many lives.
The trailer offers a glimpse of her investigating the mysterious accidents that have been written off by the local authorities as they follow no particular pattern. The trailer hints at her personal life and past in some way being instrumental in her pursuit of the truth that finally leads to some unsettling revelations.
The film written and directed by Arun Vaseegaran stars Shabeer Kallarakkal, Santhosh Prathap, Miya George, MS Bhaskar, Vivek Prasanna, Vela Ramamoorthy in the supporting cast. The crime thriller is bankrolled by AAA Cinemaa Private Limited. Sam CS composes the original score for the film while the cinematography is handled by KG Venkatesh. The Road is being edited by A R Shivaraj with Shiva Yadav spearheading the production design department.
The film is set to release in Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi languages and be Trisha’s next release before Vijay’s Leo (2023). The Road is slated to release on October 6.
