Season 3 Of HBO Satire The White Lotus To Be Set In Thailand

According to entertainment and trade website Variety, season 3 of the anthology series The White Lotus will be set in Thailand. The first season, which focussed on a class war between wealthy tourists and the overworked hotel staffers at the resort they were staying at, was set at the Four Seasons resort in Hawaii. Season 2, which shifted track to depciting a battle of the sexes, was set at the Four Seasons Italy.

“The first season kind of highlighted money, and then the second season is sex,” said creator Mike White in a clip pegged at the end of the Season 2 finale. “I think the third season would be maybe a satirical and funny look at death and Eastern religion and spirituality. It feels like it could be a rich tapestry to do another round at White Lotus.”

Production on Season 3 is yet to begin, and no casting announcements have been made. Previous series cast members include Jennifer Coolidge, Theo James, Aubrey Plaza, Steve Zahn, Fred Hechinger, Alexandra Daddario and Connie Britton.

The White Lotus won 10 Emmy Awards for its first season and 2 for its second.
