Sohum Shah on Maharani: Didn't take up other projects, I was dedicated to Bheema

In a media interaction, Sohum Shah spoke about his character in the hit streaming series Maharani and the challenges faced during the shooting of the series. Shah also revealed that his character of Bheema in Maharani, made him a household name despite being a part of films like Talvar (2015), Ship of Theseus (2012), Tumbbad (2018) and Simran (2017).

"Bheema Bharti, my character in Maharani series was quite challenging both physically and mentally. Whether it was my look, having to change my physique for the part, the dialect, accent, or dialogue delivery, it all took a lot of work," Shah said.

He added: "During the prep for the second season, I got other projects, but didn't take them up because I was dedicated to Bheema. I didn't want to disturb the headspace or the look that my character required and Bheema's character is layered."

Shah will next be seen in Dahaad produced by Zoya Akhtar and Reema Kagti also starring Sonakshi Sinha and his production venture CrazXy.
