Sarpatta Parambarai 2 Confirmed: Pa Ranjith and Arya to Team Up Again

Pa Ranjith’s Sarpatta Parambarai, which was set in the early 70s, traced the clash between two boxing clans. The boxing drama became the second most-watched regional film on Amazon Prime Video at the time in 2021. The makers have now announced that there is a sequel on the cards and that it will go on floors soon.

“Match பாக்க ready-யா? ரோஷமான ஆங்கில குத்துச்சண்ட🥊 Round 2️⃣, (Are you ready to watch the match?)” wrote actor Arya (who played Kabilan Munirathnam in the original) on his Instagram handle. 

Jatin Sethi will be co-producing the sequel, along with Pa Ranjith’s Neelam Productions. Sethi was quoted saying, “I was blown away by Sarpatta Parambarai. Also, its rare that the sequel of a digital film will be released in cinemas. And why not? Sarpatta Round 2 warrants a big screen experience.” While the details about the rest of the cast and crew are yet to be announced, Arya will reprise his role from the original. Sarpatta Parambarai co-starred Dushara Vijayan, Pasupathy and John Kokken in important roles.
