Rajamouli went on to dedicate the award to his fellow filmmakers from India. “To all my fellow filmmakers in India, it is for all of us to believe that we can truly make international films,” he said.

The film also won other awards at the ceremony, including ‘Best Action Film’, ‘Best Stunts’ and ‘Best Original Song’ for the Oscar-nominated number ‘Naatu Naatu’. The 6th Hollywood Critics Association Film Awards ceremony took place in Los Angeles on the evening of 24th February.
