RRR’s desi dance number ‘Naatu Naatu’, composed by MM Keeravani, was awarded the Best Original Song at the 95th Academy Awards. This made the SS Rajamouli directorial the first Indian feature production to win an Oscar. Talking to The Hollywood Reporter at Oscars night, Ram Charan said that it was a surreal moment to be at the award ceremony.

“I don’t feel like a part of the RRR team but we are coming as a country, representing the 1.8 billion people and their love and support for cinema in the past 85 years. We are happy for the Academy recognition,” said the actor.

He further added that they never thought of such things when they shot for the film and expressed his gratitude towards people for celebrating RRR. “It is not our film, it is not our song, it is the people’s song and they have owned the song across the globe. They have brought the song and the film to this carpet.”

Talking about the sequel, Ram Charan said that he would be the happiest if it happens. “I would love it. I have heard my director talk about it in many interviews. And if it happens, they will crack it and nail it again.”
