In a recent media interaction, Rakulpreet Singh spoke about her upcoming film Chhatriwali releasing on Zee5. The film is about an unemployed chemistry genius Sanya played by Singh who ends up getting a job as a teacher helping young minds move beyond the taboos of sex with the right education. Talking about the film Singh said,

“I won't say that it's less about entertainment and more about educating, it's a little bit of both. When you have a character like this, which is also touching upon something which is socially relevant, it is important to say in a manner that people understand it but at the same time it is not meant to be preachy because we are here for entertainment. And through Sanya’s journey, we are saying something that she felt in her journey was important. Also, it is not about lecturing people but about saying something important in a very lighthearted and entertaining way."

Directed by Tejas Prabhaa Vijay Deoskar, Chhatriwali also stars Adil Hussain, Sumeet Vyas and Satish Kaushik in pivotal roles. The film will release on Zee5 original on January 20.
