O Baby Trailer: Dileesh Pothan's Thriller Traces Young Love and Social Differences

The trailer opens with a bird’s eye view of the lush green hilly forest area called Chekuthan Mala, as two youngsters — Mini (Haniya Nafisa) and Basil (Devadath AS) — warm up to each other. However, all hell breaks loose when their families learn about their budding relationship. The Chekuthan Mala is also known as the Demon’s Hill, and there is a mystery behind it, warns Dileesh Pothan. And the atmosphere turns eerie as we are shown glimpses of action scenes, people loading their guns and attacking each other — amidst which Basil, who gets ready to fight back, says, “Let them try to kill, we will try to live.” The thriller promises to explore the social differences existing in the region and how the young couple stands up against their families. 

Ranjan Pramod who last directed Rakshadhikari Baiju Oppu (2017) is the writer-director of O Baby. The cast also includes Raghunath Paleri, Athulya and Saji Soman. The film is produced by Dileesh Pothan, Abhishek Sashidharan and Pramod Thevarapalli. Arun Chalil has lensed the film and Samjith Mohmed has handled the editing.
