While it was announced earlier in April that actors R Madhavan, Nayanthara and Siddharth will be teaming up for a film titled The Test, the makers have announced the casting of actor Meera Jasmine in the project on Tuesday.
Meera, who enjoys popularity among Tamil audiences, ascribed to her roles in hit films like Run (2002) and Sandakozhi (2005), was last seen in Tamil in the 2014 film Inga Enna Solluthu. After taking a sabbatical from acting, Meera is now signing films across languages. She will also be seen in the Tamil-Telugu bilingual, Vimanam, set to hit screens in June.
The Test will mark the directorial debut of S Sashikanth, best known as the producer of films like Vikram Vedha (2017), Mandela (2021), Jagame Thandhiram (2021), Irudhi Suttru (2016) and Kaaviya Thalaivan (2014), to name some. S Sashikanth is also co-producing the film with Chakravarthy Ramachandra through his production house, Y Not Studios.
It was also recently announced that popular singer Shakthisree Gopalan will be making her debut as a music composer with the film. The Test's technical crew consists of editor TS Suresh, DoP Viraj Sinh Gohil and production designers Madhusudan and Shwetha Sabu Cyril. The Test's original story is written by Suman Kumar.
Filming of The Test is in progress.
