Mathagam Trailer: Atharvaa Faces off with Manikandan in Disney Hotstar’s Crime Thriller 

Disney+ Hotstar put out the trailer for its next big tamil web series, featuring Atharvaa, Manikandan and Nikhila Vimal in the lead titled Mathagam (2023). The crime procedural show will follow the lives of police forces and crime syndicates framed through the eyes of a fierce cop who hunts down a deadly gangster. While Atharvaa plays the protagonist cop in the show, Manikandan plays the rebel. The trailer features a line by Manikandan that sums up the nature of the good vs evil philosophy that the genre usually explores: “The difference between a cop’s gun and mine is that all I have to do is pull the trigger to shoot, whereas he has to wait for the nod of the law,” 

The series is written and directed by Prasath Murugesan, who is known for his work in the film Kidaari (2016). He also has directed episodes of the critically acclaimed web series Queen (2019). The show will have score by Darbuka Shiva whereas cinematography will be handled by Edwin Sakey. The series will be out on the platform on August 18
