The trailer of singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh's Jogi was released at a recent event organised by Netflix. Directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, who directed the Salman Khan-starrer blockbuster Sultan (2016), Jogi is the story of friendship and courage, set against the backdrop of the anti-Sikh riots that erupted in Delhi, in 1984.

Dosanjh said, "As an actor you want to grow with the character you play. Each role I play helps me grow from within." He added, "Mera agar dil nahi maanta toh wo kirdaar main nibha nahi sakta (If the role doesn't appeal to me, I can't portray that character with honesty). I have to be honestly connected to the character."

"Jogi holds a special place in my heart and I say it with pride that this has been told on a global platform like Netflix which has huge reach and impact. I am forever thankful and grateful for all my fans who make me who I am and I wish they like me in and as Jogi," said the singer and actor. Dosanjh's filmography includes Honsla Rakh (2021), Good Newwz (2019), Arjun Patiala (2019), Shaada (2019) and Soorma (2018).

Jogi also stars Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub, who was previously seen in Tandav and Bloody Brothers. The cast includes Kumud Mishra, Hiten Tejwani and Amyra Dastur. Jogi has been produced by Himanshu Kishan Mehra and will stream exclusively on Netflix from September 16 onwards.
