While promoting Laal Singh Chaddha, Aamir Khan said he had approached Shah Rukh Khan to do a cameo in the film. Laal Singh Chaddha is the official Hindi remake of Forrest Gump (1994) and has a scene in which a young Forrest effectively teaches the legendary singer Elvis Presley how to dance. While we don't know how that's been adapted in the Hindi remake, Khan did reveal that he wanted Shah Rukh to appear in a cameo for this scene. "Shah Rukh is a friend, and I told him that I needed someone who could represent what Elvis represented in America and is the biggest iconic star in India, which is why I'm coming to you," Khan said.
We'll have to wait to see the film to find out how writer Atul Kulkarni and director Advait Chandan have adapted that scene for Indian audiences.
Laal Singh Chaddha's cast includes Kareena Kapoor Khan and Mona Singh. The film marks the debut of South star Naga Chaitanya.
